OUR QUALIFICATIONS:
James (aka "Capt. Jack Golden") spent 24 years as a classroom teacher, so there will
always be some educational components in his presentations. He is the author of a state-adopted textbook on North Carolina and holds a Masters of Education degree. James has an additional 16 years experience as a historical interpreter, including four years with the National Park Service, seven years as the lead interpreter at a well-known Manteo venue, and the last four years as Site Manager at a maritime historic site.
Linda (aka "First Mate Lyn Silver") has had theatrical training and skills, appeared in many local theater productions, served as an Executive Board Member of a theater company, and has had hands-on experience in practically every area of theater production, and is a member of Screen Actors Guild. For the past seven years, Linda has created a number of programs and has presented them to the public in full garb on a daily basis at a local historic site.
Years of working with Outer Banks visitors, both children and adults alike, has given her the knowledge to create unique and impressive lasting memories for all involved.
